Few months ago I uploaded my video of carmageddon to youtube with 3dfx acceleration in high resolution and someone was asking in the comments for some guide on how to make this work so now I decided that I’ll write this tutorial.

I updated my build of WinSCP to version 4.3.5
Depending on the jump list handling I created 3 different versions:
- Add all saved sessions to jump list as tasks, this is the same behavior as old version, download, (2.5 MB).

- Track only recently opened sessions. You can manually pin and delete sessions in jump list, download, (2.5 MB).

- And the combination of previous two, this version add all sessions as tasks and track recent session usage, download, (2.5 MB).

To use my version you can simply install WinSCP from official site and extract downloaded archive to your install location overwriting existing files.
If you want to pin it to task bar you need to pin running application, just dragging winscp.exe to task bar will not work, also if you want to pin it to start menu you must use the shortcut which I included in download archives (you will probably need to change target in shortcut properties to point to your WinSCP installation) because the shortcut needs to have set the same AppUserModelID as the application, which can be done only programmatically.

The latest beta version of WinSCP (5.0.3) has official support for the windows 7 jump lists and taskbar progressbar, although I didn’t test it yet, since the 5.0.x versions were pretty unstable for me. Because of that, I won’t be supplying my versions of WinSCP anymore (also because I am unable to successfully compile 5.0.x versions). In the near future I will publish version 4.3.5 with jump lists support which will probably be the last version from me.
If you have any suggestions about some opensource software that can benefit from taskbar progressbar or jump list, you can leave a comment and maybe I’ll take a look at it

I updated my build of 7-Zip with Windows 7 taskbar progressbar support to version 9.21 beta. You can download version for 32bit Windows, (443.11 kB) or 64bit Windows, (580.6 kB). This build also supports Windows Vista/7 high DPI settings which I achieved just by modifying manifest files, so it should work without problems on older Windowses.
Modified source is available here, (11.23 kB). You can find more details and screenshots in original article.
Recently I discovered a way how to use recent items on Windows 7 task bar jump lists without the need to keep that list in registry so now I decided to modify my version of WinSCP to use this feature.
